Strangeletter – Full Debut Album

It’s always great when you stumble across that unexpected gem and slowly realize that you’ve found a new favorite. I recently stumbled across a Progressive Rock band out of Portland, Oregon called Strangeletter. They’re hard to describe (which is a good thing, in my book). I hear bits of OSI and Spock’s Beard in their music, but at the same time they manage to be unique. This is music that I’ve been needing to hear.

The Progressive Rock genre has been needing a boost in the vein, and I think Strangeletter might fit the bill. They’re musical and dramatic without resorting to the technical pissing contests of so many other bands in the Progressive Rock camp.

There’s not much that needs to be said about these guys. Listen to their debut album and decide for yourself.
